DOCA MISSION AND SCOPE

Our Mission: The Defense Orientation Conference Association (DOCA) is a nationwide non-profit organization dedicated to continuing education in defense and national security affairs. Our members facilitate heightened awareness of how our military forces contribute to the safety and security of the United States of America and its allies globally.

What we do: By focusing on issues and challenges in the areas of defense, foreign policy and national security, DOCA’s membership of business and civic leaders provides a direct conduit of information to our local communities to enhance public understanding of the vital roles and capabilities of the men and women in the U.S. Armed Forces. Our members achieve this by engaging directly with representatives of the armed forces and government officials at military bases and embassies around the world. We interact with personnel both formally and informally at all levels, from new recruits up to the most senior commanders and government officials. Members then return home to share this information with their respective communities.

Recent continuing education activities have included participating actively in briefings on many aspects of the military, visiting NORAD, touring a Trident class submarine, attending a graduation ceremony for U.S. Naval Special Warfare Operators, dining on the surrender deck of the battleship Missouri and visiting Embassies in Belgium, China, Norway, South Korea, the United Kingdom and Vietnam. We provide direct support to the National Defense University (NDU) through the NDU Foundation, to both the International Fellows Program and the International Counter-Terrorism Fellows Program. Our members are passionate in supporting those who choose to serve. We continue to grow as the premier, non-partisan, defense support organization in the USA.

Proud to Serve, Support and Honor our United States Armed Forces
