Due to COVID, and especially the COVID situation in California, the scheduled conference for the Los Angeles (Space Systems Command and Space X) and Santa Barbara (Vandenberg SFB, Space X and Point Mugu/Port Hueneme), has been postponed. This conference is now scheduled for March 27-30, 2022. The primary concern for me was the health of our DOCA members whose average age is in the 70s. In my opinion, mixing COVID and the conference at this time was not worth the risk, hence the postponement. Trust me, the decision was not made lightly. Registration fees will be returned without an administrative charge.
Four conferences are scheduled for 2022. They are:
- March 27 – 30, Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, CA. Tentatively, the conference will include briefings at Space Systems Command and Space X in Los Angeles. DOCA will travel to Santa Barbara for briefings at Vandenberg Space Force Base, Space X, and Naval Base Ventura County (Point Mugu and/or Port Hueneme).
- June 26 – 30, Ottawa, Trenton and Kingston, Canada. Tentatively in Ottawa, briefings from the Canadian National Defense, the civilian Department of National Defense and the U. S. Embassy. DOCA will travel to Kingston and Trenton for briefings at Canadian military installations.
- August 14 – 17, Saint Louis, MO. DOCA will visit Scott Air Force Base and receive briefings from the Air Force Air Mobility Command.
- October 30 – November 2, Washington D. C. for the annual meeting. Briefings to be determined.
You will note that the conference in San Diego, California, has been dropped. The reason for this was to spread the conferences geographically around the country to more fairly share the traveling burden for DOCA members.
